Highlights include diverse ecosystems like heath, moorland, and alpine desert, with remote campsites such as Shira 2 Camp, Moir Hut, and Buffalo Camp providing ample acclimatization.

After circling the mountain's northern slopes, trekkers ascend to the summit via Gilman's Point and Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The descent follows the Mweka Route through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, completing the journey.
